Cross-Device Product Language

Product language and UX writing for T-Mobile SyncUP products and their companion mobile applications, shaping how language functioned across both hardware and software surfaces. The work required close collaboration with UX designers, software engineers, and hardware teams to ensure copy was clear, reassuring, and age-appropriate while supporting parental trust and safety-critical interactions. Operating within the constraints of a small-form device and a paired app experience, the project focused on consistency, clarity, and tone—designing language that guided children intuitively while giving parents confidence in how the product communicated and behaved.

Language behaves differently when it lives inside hardware.

This work centers on product language designed for connected devices and their companion applications, where space is limited, attention is fragmented, and clarity is non-negotiable. It includes on-device language and mobile UX writing that must operate together as a single experience.

Network Test Drive and more.

Michael Peñate led product language work for connected consumer devices, collaborating closely with UX designers, software engineers, and hardware teams. The work balanced approachability with responsibility, particularly in environments involving families, children, and safety-critical interactions.

Additionally, Michael supported a range of other UX initiatives including the launch of T-Mobile’s Test Drive feature, SyncUP TRACKER, SyncUP DRIVE, and more.
